Oral Assessment Online Group Syllabus
The following syllabus is subject to change at any time depending on the needs of the group.
I hope to keep it up to date and annotate it so that future groups can use it to prep online for the Oral Assessment.
- Week 1: Introductions & Statement of Interest Strategies Powerpoint Presentation: Week1.ppt
- We'll each take a minute to introduce ourselves, our background, our experience with the Oral Assessment, our biggest strength and our biggest weakness when it comes to the oral assessment.
- We'll briefly go through each of the thirteen dimensions.
- We'll talk about what the Statement of Interest is and some strategies for writing it.
- We'll pair up to work with one another on the Statement of Interest over the coming week.
- Assignment: Work with your partner to write and proofread the first draft of your Statement of Interest.
- Week 2: Finalize and Peer Edit Statements of Interest
- We'll each present and critique one another's statement of interest.
- Asssignment: Do the sample case management exercise. Print out the materials and complete it in a timed environment,.
- Week 3: Case Management Inside & Out
- We'll go through the case management exercise sample and critique one another's memos.
- Asssignment: No assignment.
- Week 4: Structured Interview - We'll share strategies and help each other brainstorm stories.
