Foreign Service Officer Test Registration

The Foreign Service Officer Test registration now takes place on line. You will be asked to provide a complete educational and work history along with a series of paragraph essay questions demonstrating your background and qualifications. This data is used by the QEP after you pass the FSOT to evaluate your application. If you're invited to an Oral Assessment, the evaluators also have access to this information. The QEP will also contact one or more of the references listed with the essay questions.

After your registration, you can correct certain contact information by logging back into the site and choosing "Update Account Info" in the menu on the left side of the screen.

Once invited to an oral assessment, E-mail vog.etats|nsoitseuQAOSF#vog.etats|nsoitseuQAOSF to initiate the security clearance process for this person to complete an electronic version of the SF-85P Questionnaire for Public Trust and SF-85PS Supplemental Questionnaire for Selected Positions. Please include "Initiate Security Clearance" in the subject line of your e-mail. Note, if they don't have a SSN or TIN, you'll need to complete these forms by hand.
